Millet Groats - Versatile in the Kitchen
Millet groats offer a wide range of culinary uses. They can be used to prepare millet porridge, a perfect option for a nutritious breakfast or dinner – both sweet and savory. Additionally, millet groats are a great side dish for main courses (as an alternative to potatoes, rice, or pasta) and salads.
You can also use millet groats to make omelets, patties, pancakes, and even puddings. When ground, millet turns into flour, which serves as an excellent alternative to wheat flour for making pancakes, dumplings, pasta, or even bread.
Loose Millet Groats – A Healthier Choice
Our millet groats, unlike typical supermarket products, are not packaged in boiling bags. Cooking loose groats is a much healthier option, as boiling bags often contain the controversial substance Bisphenol A (BPA), which can release harmful chemicals into food when exposed to high temperatures.
In addition to health benefits, cooking loose groats helps retain more flavor and nutrients, as cooking groats in bags results in the loss of many valuable substances that dissolve in the cooking water, which is then discarded.
Millet Groats - Vacuum-Sealed Jars – Freshness Guaranteed
Our jars are vacuum-sealed and come without labels for a clean and eco-friendly presentation. When you open them, you'll hear the signature “pop” sound – a sign of freshness! We vacuum-pack our products to ensure they retain their taste, aroma, and texture for as long as possible. Try it and discover how properly preserved products can truly enhance flavor!
Millet Groats - Cooking Instructions
Rinse the groats thoroughly with warm water, then cook in salted water (or unsalted if preparing a sweet dish) using a ratio of 1 part groats to 2.5 parts water. Simmer on low heat for about 15-18 minutes. After cooking, leave covered in a warm place until the water is fully absorbed.
For a richer flavor, try cooking millet groats with plant-based milk – based on our experience, it pairs perfectly with rice milk.
